On the afternoon of July 31, 2025, the Pearl River West Coast Regional Committee Exchange Meeting of the Patent Committee of Provincial Lawyers Association was successfully held at Funto Law Firm. The event was hosted by the Patent Law Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Lawyers Association and the Intellectual Property Law Committee of the Foshan Lawyers Association, and co-organized by the Intellectual Property Law Committees of the Zhuhai Lawyers Associations, Zhongshan Lawyers Associations, and Jiangmen Lawyers Associations. Over twenty lawyers attended the exchange meeting.

The first session featured keynote speeches. Chen Jiannan, Vice Chair of the Provincial Patent Committee and Partner at Funto Law Firm, presented on "Legal Application of Pre-Action Behavior Preservation in Trade Secret Cases." Wang Xin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Provincial Patent Committee and Member of the Zhuhai IP Committee, shared insights on "Judicial Determination and Practical Key Points of Reverse Engineering Defense in Trade Secret Cases." Li Linhui, Deputy Secretary-General of the Provincial Patent Committee and Director of the Jiangmen IP Committee, delivered a speech titled "Determining the Scope of Protection for Patent Claims." These topics addressed hot-button and complex issues in judicial practice, sparking lively discussions among attendees.

The second session consisted of a roundtable discussion. Participants included He Wenhui, Vice President of the Jiangmen Lawyers Association; Yang Huanjun, Director of the Zhuhai IP Committee; Zhang Yehui, Vice Director of the Foshan IP Committee; and Liu Xiaojun, Vice Director of the Zhongshan IP Committee. The panelists freely exchanged views on the current state of intellectual property legal practice and business development strategies across different cities, while the audience actively engaged with questions and comments, creating a dynamic atmosphere.

This event, jointly organized by the Provincial Patent Committee and municipal-level IP committees, was widely praised by participants for enhancing professional exchange among patent lawyers from different regions, improving practical skills, and broadening professional horizons. The meeting achieved excellent results.
